High school students

Does coding, design mechanics, mechatronics, robotics, or working with systems fascinate you?

Boeing Australia offers a variety of STEM career pathways for you. To prepare for a STEM career with us, we recommend the following study:

  • Mathematics: To pursue a STEM career, it's important to excel in mathematics and continue studying it up to Year 12 as many roles require strong mathematical foundation. This may include Math Methods or Specialist Math.
  • Science: We also encourage studying science subjects up to year 12. Physics may be required for some technical career paths.
  • English: Completing year 12 English is recommended for all career types.
High School Students Career Pathway

Internship program

Our twelve-week summer intern program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of aerospace, gain hands-on experience and build your professional network.

If you are a university student in your second, third, or fourth year of study, this opportunity is for you. We offer full-time placements across Australia, giving you the chance to apply your academic skills in a practical setting. 

Whether your interest lies in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Global Sales and Marketing, HR, Quality, Supply Chain Management, or Sustainability, Boeing has a diverse range of placements to suit your passion.

Placements are available in multiple locations across Australia, including Brisbane, Amberley, Williamtown, Adelaide, Nowra and Melbourne.

How to apply
Pre-register your interest HERE and you will be notified when applications open. Typically, this happens in July. The program runs for twelve-weeks, starting in late November and ending mid-February the following year and before the standard university semester commences.

If you’ve recently graduated (within 12 months) or are about to graduate from university, you are eligible to apply for a full-time graduate role with Boeing. We have positions available across various Boeing businesses and subsidiaries across Australia.

Depending on your career goals, we offer a variety of graduate roles in fields including engineering, information technology, computer science, finance, operations, and supply chain management.

With placements in Brisbane, Adelaide, Nowra, Williamtown, and Melbourne, you can choose the location that suits you best,

Apprenticeship & Traineeship Certificates

Boeing Australia’s Apprenticeship and Traineeship programs offer unique pathways to gain hands-on experience and nationally recognised qualifications while working alongside experienced professionals.

What we offer

  • Receive structured training and mentoring in your chosen field, covering both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Work on live projects, applying your learning to real challenges within the aerospace industry and beyond.
  • Build a strong foundation for a fulfilling career with Boeing, with opportunities for ongoing growth and advancement.
  • Earn a nationally recognised certificate II, III or IV qualification in your chosen trade or specialisation.

Our programs

We offer Apprenticeships and Traineeships in various disciplines through Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA) and Boeing Defence Australia (BDA), including:  

  • Aeroskills (Certificate II, III & IV): Develop skills in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul, specialising in areas such as structures, mechanical systems, avionics, and finishing.
  • Engineering – Mechanical (Certificate III): Gain expertise in machining and fitting/turning for the production and maintenance of precision aircraft components.

Apprenticeships are available in multiple locations across Australia, including, Amberley, Townsville, Oakey, Adelaide, Nowra and Melbourne.
